Drafting arbitration clauses for complex international construction and energy projects.
ASAR’s Senior Partner, @Ahmed Barakat, will participate in the Conference of Arbitration in Investment Contracts: Practical Applications in International Construction and Oil & Gas Contracts, taking place at Cairo University on 14 – 15 February 2026.
Held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Egypt and chaired by Professor Dr. Mohamed Samy Abdel Sadek, Rector of Cairo University and Chairman of the Cairo University Arbitration Centre, the conference brings together leading practitioners and academics to examine current challenges in arbitration across international investment, construction and energy contracts.
Ahmed, who has more than 30 years of experience in litigation and arbitration, will speak during the session “Arbitration in International Construction Agreements: The drafting of international construction agreements and the arbitration clause,” alongside Dr. Mohamed Salah Abdel Wahab and Dr. Mohamed Sameh Amr.
The session will provide an analytical and practical perspective on how arbitration clauses should be drafted in complex international construction projects, drawing on the participants’ extensive hands-on experience in dispute resolution.
